Section Waiter – Permanent Part Time 20+ Hours

Soi 38 is looking for an experienced Section Waiter to join our front-of-house team, with a permanent part time (20+ hours) position available for the right applicant.

We are an award-winning modern Thai restaurant in the heart of Adelaide, offering an elevated dining experience that is grounded in Thai tradition and unconventional in approach.

This role is suited to someone who is confident running their own section, understands the rhythm of a busy restaurant service and genuinely enjoys looking after guests.

About the role

As a Section Waiter, you will be responsible for managing your section from beginning to end, including:

- Providing warm, professional and attentive table service

- Confidently managing a section during busy services

- Guiding guests through our menu and tasting menu options

- Taking accurate food and beverage orders

- Understanding dietary requirements and communicating these correctly

- Maintaining strong communication with the kitchen, bar and other FOH team members

- Monitoring the pace and flow of each table

- Delivering food and beverages with strong menu knowledge

- Processing bills and payments

- Maintaining presentation and service standards throughout your section

- Completing opening, closing and general FOH duties

About you

We’re looking for someone who:





- Has previous experience as a section waiter or in a similar restaurant role

- Is comfortable running a busy section independently

- Has strong food and beverage knowledge, or is enthusiastic about developing it

- Has excellent communication and guest service skills

- Is organised, observant and able to prioritise during service

- Understands that great hospitality is about more than taking orders

- Works well as part of a team

- Takes pride in presentation, detail and professionalism

- Is reliable and available for a combination of lunch and dinner services

Experience in premium casual, hatted or fine-dining environments is highly regarded, but attitude, confidence and genuine hospitality are just as important.
