About the role

This is a senior, autonomous Business Development position with a national remit and a strong East Coast focus. You'll spend the majority of your time in the market, in front of clients and developing opportunities. You'll identify projects at concept and design stage, establish relationships with key decision-makers and work to have the company's solutions considered and specified well before projects enter the tender phase. You'll also have the opportunity to provide guidance and support to the broader national Architecture & Design team.

Key responsibilities
Develop and grow relationships with architects, designers, developers, consultants and engineers
Identify major commercial projects during the concept and design stages
Drive architectural specification opportunities across the East Coast
Present solutions and capabilities to architectural practices and project stakeholders
Secure product specifications ahead of tender
Develop new relationships while strengthening existing industry connections




Build and actively manage a strong pipeline of major project opportunities
Track prospects from initial specification through tender and project award
Work closely with internal Business Development, Estimating and Project teams
Provide market intelligence on upcoming developments, competitors and opportunities

About you
Proven Business Development and/or specification sales experience
Experience selling into the Architecture & Design community
An understanding of the commercial construction project lifecycle
The ability to identify and influence projects at an early stage
Confidence presenting to architects, designers, consultants and developers
Strong commercial and negotiation skills
Excellent communication and relationship-building ability
A proactive approach to developing new business
Solid pipeline and chance-management discipline
The ability to work autonomously and manage your own territory
