We are advertising for the position of Agricultural Technician for our vegetable farms L & R Khakh located in Shepparton East, Victoria.

Duties Include:

o Soil testing and assessing the terrain, physical and soil characteristics of the orchards to identify nutrient deficiencies and determine the most effective use of chemicals and fertilisers

o Assisting in developing recent methods of planting, fertilising, harvesting and processing crops to achieve optimum land usage

o Identifying micro-organisms and insects, parasites, fungi and weeds harmful to crops, and assisting in devising methods of control

o Assessing the produce to set and maintain standards of quality to meet market requirements

o Ordering and arranging the supply of chemicals and fertilisers to Farm Managers, and giving advice on their use in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Regulations





o Collecting and collating data for research

o Assessing all planting, harvesting and other aspects of production processes

o Provide reports to advise producers on farming techniques and management

o Train other staff working on the orchards in improved production techniques

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

Advanced Diploma of Horticulture

Excellent computer skills

Excellent English language skills

Three years experience working in agriculture in Australia
