The Victorian Heart and Lung Clinic is a private cardiology practice providing a complete spectrum of advanced cardiovascular care in Melbourne and Regional Victoria. With four locations across Metropolitan Melbourne and Gippsland, we provide patients with specialised inpatient and outpatient heart and lung care and long term management of their condition.

The Practice is seeking an enthusiastic part-time person to join the team 3 days per week ( Monday, Wednesday & Thursday) and take on the role of Medical Receptionist. The person filling this position needs to be capable of handling a stressful workplace at any given time in order to serve patients, medical staff, requests and inquiries as they come in.

The position may suit students pursuing studies in health care, SEN's or other individuals with some experience in a health care setting. Other interested parties are also welcome to apply. The position will be predominantly based at Noble Park but some travel to Cabrini Hospital in Malvern may also be required.

Salary range is $26-$30 per hour based on experience.

Skills needed for the position include




Multitasking to balance responsibilities between patient needs and doctor availability
Time management skills for maintaining the focus of office staff and keeping pace with daily tasks
Understanding of healthcare terminology for relaying medical data
Excellent communication and people skills and a pleasant demeanor
Experience in scheduling and tracking patient information/appointments and maintaining supplies.
Ability to work independently.
Understanding of Privacy Rules, patient rights, and how to communicate medical histories. Data entry skills like using electronic-medical record keeping via cloud-based software (Clinic to Cloud)
Training will be given to fit Holter Monitors, Heartbugs and Blood Pressure Monitors.

Job Types: Part time, Permanent

Pay: $26.00 – $30.00 per hour
