Zorro's Cafe & Bar is the latest addition to the already thriving food and beverage scene in Airlie Beach. Located on the waterfront within the retail section of Port of Airlie, Zorro's offers stunning views over the Marina. We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to take control of our kitchen and managing our fantastic team in this beautiful location.

As our Head Chef you will be responsible for providing excellent guests experience by providing an unforgettable food and dining experience, whilst overseeing smooth kitchen operation. You will develop the existing menu and be responsible for providing an effective and cost-effective food service balanced with utilising high quality, local produce.

Tasks & Responsibilities -
Ensure the kitchen complies with sanitation regulations and safety standards
Control and direct food preparation including mentoring a kitchen team to success
Build strong relationships with local suppliers and all other stakeholders
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes across our breakfast, lunch and tapas menus
Hold a high standards and expectations for yourself, your work and others
Development of recent our menu items and specials




Develop management plan and provide ongoing management for kitchen equipment maintenance and inventory

To be successful in this role, you will have -
2+ years experience managing a kitchen as a Head Chef
Attention to detail and ability to achieve highest standards of food quality
A passion for food and a creative flair
Solid experience leading and mentoring a team, with strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to work well under pressure
A positive attitude and strong work ethic

Salary and full time position negotiable for the right person.

Pay: $40.00 – $46.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 38.0 per week
