13 Rows cafe in Warrandyte is looking for an experienced, hands-on Head Chef to take ownership of our kitchen and help shape the next chapter of the café.

We’re looking for someone who is confident running a small kitchen, enjoys developing food and wants genuine creative input rather than simply following someone else’s menu.

The role
Lead and mentor a small kitchen team
Run day-to-day kitchen operations and service
Develop and maintain a solid café and cabinet menu
Ordering, stock control, food costing and waste management
Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency and cleanliness
Develop systems and train kitchen staff
Work collaboratively with the owners and front-of-house team

The food

Our focus is approachable, high-quality café food, with plenty of scope for the right chef to put their own stamp on the menu.

Think quality cabinet food, house-made pies and sausage rolls, focaccias, sandwiches, salads,



breakfast/brunch and seasonal specials.

We have a beautiful large boutique grocery store and deli next door to use at your convenience and to give you endless inspiratio!

About you

You’ll ideally have senior chef or kitchen leadership experience, solid café/brunch experience, and the ability to work independently and lead a small team.

Most importantly, you’re organised, reliable, passionate about food and hospitality, and want to take ownership and make a genuine difference.

Daytime hours — no late-night service.
