Mental Health Nurse – Neami National | Alice Springs
Location: Alice Springs, NT
Working within a Medicare Mental Health Centre
Provide accessible, person-centred mental health support to people experiencing distress or mental health concerns.
Complete mental health assessments, risk assessments and safety planning.
Provide clinical interventions, brief interventions and crisis support.
Monitor consumers’ mental health presentation and identify changes in clinical risk or support needs.
Provide mental health education and support around medication, wellbeing and recovery within nursing scope of practice.
Develop and review individual care and recovery plans.
Support people with complex and co-occurring mental health needs, including AOD where relevant.




Coordinate referrals and connect consumers with appropriate health, mental health and community services.
Liaise with GPs, hospitals, psychiatrists and other service providers to support continuity of care.
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside the Clinical Lead, Clinicians, Peer Workers and other Mental Health Nurses.
Provide trauma-informed, recovery-oriented and culturally protected care, including working effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Maintain clinical documentation, case notes and reporting requirements.
Participate in clinical supervision, case reviews and team meetings.
AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse required.
Mental health/community mental health experience highly desirable.
Solid assessment, crisis response, de-escalation and stakeholder engagement skills.
