Title:Principal Coastal EngineerLead Complex Coastal & Maritime Projects Across AustraliaWe're seeking an experienced Principal Coastal Engineer to join KBR Brisbane to play a key leadership role within their Maritime team.
This is an opportunity to lead the delivery of complex coastal engineering projects, provide technical direction across a diverse portfolio, and help shape the future capability of an established coastal engineering team.Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients and stakeholders, you'll apply your expertise across coastal processes, numerical modelling, coastal protection design, dredging and maritime infrastructure projects while mentoring and developing engineers within the business.The Opportunity:As a Principal Coastal Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership across a broad range of coastal and maritime projects, from concept development through to detailed design and project delivery.
You'll also contribute to business growth through client engagement, proposal development and project management activities.Key Responsibilities Include:Leading coastal engineering and coastal process investigationsProviding technical oversight of coastal numerical modelling, including wave, hydrodynamic and sediment transport studiesDelivering coastal protection solutions such as seawalls, revetments and groynesSupporting dredging design, disposal assessment and environmental plume modellingManaging and delivering coastal engineering projects to budget, schedule and quality requirementsMentoring and developing engineers and technical professionalsReviewing designs,



technical reports and project documentationBuilding and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationshipsContributing to proposals, tenders and business development activitiesCollaborating across multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated project outcomesAbout You:We're interested in speaking with experienced Coastal engineers who combine strong technical capability with a collaborative approach to leadership and relationship building.You'll likely bring:A Bachelor's degree in Civil EngineeringExtensive experience in coastal engineering, coastal processes and maritime infrastructure projectsStrong technical knowledge across coastal modelling and engineering designExperience leading multidisciplinary project teams and mentoring engineersExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong client relationship management capabilityExperience with project management and proposal preparationEligibility for Chartered Engineer status through Engineers AustraliaRPEQ accreditation, or the ability to obtain accreditation within an agreed timeframeHighly RegardedExperience with coastal numerical modelling software including:Delft3DSWANSWASHXBeachAdditional experience with MIKE and/or TUFLOW will be highly regarded.Why Join KBR?
