Job Description As a Commis Chef, you will work closely with the kitchen team across food preparation and busy à la carte service.Your responsibilities will include:Preparing, cooking and plating dishes to a consistent standardManaging your own section confidently during serviceSupporting mise en place and daily food preparationMaintaining high standards of food quality and presentationWorking efficiently during busy service periodsFollowing food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness requirementsAssisting with stock rotation, storage and waste minimisationWorking collaboratively with the wider kitchen and restaurant teamThis is a casual position offering approximately ***** hours per week, with most shifts falling across evenings and weekends.The position is paid at Grade 3 casual rates in accordance with the applicable Hospitality Award.
Qualifications To be successful in this role,



you will ideally have:Previous experience working as a chef in a busy restaurant, pub or hotel kitchenStrong cooking, preparation and plating skillsConfidence running a section independently during serviceThe ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining quality and consistencyStrong organisation and time-management skillsGood knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene practicesA reliable, qualified and team-focused approachFlexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as requiredStrong and contactable professional referencesA formal cookery qualification is advantageous, however strong practical kitchen experience and capability will be highly regarded.
