About the role

You will provide individualised support to participants across Adelaide's Northern Suburbs.

Key responsibilities
Personal care, including showering, dressing and toileting
Manual handling and mobility assistance
Transfers and use of mobility/manual handling equipment
Supporting participants who may display behaviours of concern
Following Positive Behaviour Support Plans and behaviour support strategies
Using de-escalation techniques and maintaining a calm, skilled approach
Community access and social support
Assistance with daily living activities
Following participant support plans and individual routines
Completing clear and accurate shift notes

About you
Previous disability support work experience
Demonstrated manual handling experience
Experience providing personal care
Experience supporting participants with behaviours of concern and complex support needs




Ability to follow Behaviour Support Plans and implement strategies consistently
Strong de-escalation and communication skills
Excellent spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with participants, families and health professionals
A caring, respectful and patient approach
Confidence working independently
Reliability and robust time-management skills
