About the role

Moppa Vintners Pty Ltd is a up-to-date contract processing winery located at Nuriootpa in the Barossa Valley. We are seeking an experienced Cellar Hand / Operational Winemaker to join our small, hands-on team. This position would suit someone with solid practical winery experience who enjoys working in a busy contract winemaking environment and is comfortable taking responsibility for day-to-day cellar operations.

Key responsibilities
General cellar operations and wine movements
Strong experience with press operations, including setup, operation and cleaning
Managing and prioritising workflow in a busy winery setting
Wine transfers, racking, blending and additions
Filtration and other winery processing operations
Tank and equipment preparation and cleaning
Accurate recording of cellar operations
Working closely with external winemakers and the cellar team




Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping

About you
Solid previous experience as a Cellar Hand, Senior Cellar Hand or Operational Winemaker
Strong practical knowledge of winery and cellar operations
Extensive experience operating winery presses
Experience working within a contract winemaking environment
Valuable working knowledge of Vintrace
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods and vintage
Solid organisational skills and attention to detail
A positive, practical and team-focused attitude
Ability to work independently as well as within a small team
