Are you passionate about strengthening communities and supporting First Nations people to achieve positive social health and wellbeing outcomes?
We are seeking a Community Support Worker to join our Community Services team in Bundaberg. This role supports the development, implementation and delivery of programs and initiatives that promote social inclusion, participation and wellbeing for First Nations clients.
About the role
Working directly with clients and community, you will provide practical support, advocacy and holistic case management while helping people connect with the services they need.
Your responsibilities will include
Engaging community members in social health and wellbeing programs
Providing holistic case management and maintaining accurate client records
Linking clients with services including health, housing, employment, family support, childcare, family violence, social support and alcohol and other drug services
Developing and maintaining solid relationships with community organisations and other service providers
Supporting the development and delivery of community programs and projects
Promoting social inclusion and participation for vulnerable and disadvantaged clients
Liaising with government and community services to support effective service delivery
Supporting activities that encourage physical activity, participation and wellbeing.
About you We’re looking for someone who can build genuine relationships with clients, community members and service providers and who is committed to achieving positive outcomes for First Nations people.
You will bring robust communication and interpersonal skills, confidence working with clients requiring practical support and referrals, good administrative and record-keeping skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across community and government services.
Position details
Location: Bundaberg
Employment: Up to full-time – 76 hours per fortnight
Classification: Social & Community Services Award, Levels 5–6
This is an identified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander position.
