We're looking for an experienced Digital Marketing Strategist (Freelance, Remote) to support a Melbourne-based digital marketing agency working across performance marketing, brand strategy and AI.
This is a hands-on, client-facing role where you'll manage Google and Meta Ads , own paid acquisition strategy, and work alongside AI-supported tools and agents to analyse performance, validate recommendations and implement campaign changes.
Engagement Details Type: Freelance / Part-time
Duration: 6 months
Commitment: Approximately 15 hours per week
Location: Australia or Current Zealand
Timezone: AEST-compatible
Schedule: Hours can be distributed across the week, with agreed availability for client meetings.
Requirements Responsibilities
Manage and optimise Google Ads and Meta/Facebook Ads accounts
Own paid acquisition strategy and implement campaign changes
Review, validate, and act on recommendations generated by AI agents
Use campaign data to identify opportunities and improve performance
Advise clients across performance, creative, brand and growth strategy
Build solid client relationships and communicate recommendations confidently
Collaborate with technical specialists across analytics, tracking and dashboarding
Requirements
Previous experience in performance marketing, paid media or digital acquisition
Strong hands-on experience with Google Ads and Meta Ads
Experience managing paid media budgets of approximately AUD20K+ per month
Robust understanding of performance and brand marketing
Robust client-facing and relationship management skills
Comfortable using AI tools and agents as part of marketing workflows
Experience with Claude, Claude Code, Codex, ChatGPT, prompt engineering or AI marketing automation is highly valued
Experience with GA4, Google Merchant Centre, tracking and dashboarding is a plus
