WE’RE HIRING — DELI ASSISTANT

Italiano’s Fresh Produce is looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Deli Assistant to join our family-run business in the heart of Brunswick.

You’ll help serve our customers, prepare quality deli products and keep the department fresh, organised and looking positive!

THE ROLE
Providing friendly and knowledgeable customer service
Slicing, weighing, wrapping and pricing deli products
Preparing and displaying meats, cheeses, antipasti and other deli items
Recommending products and helping customers with their selections
Replenishing displays and maintaining attractive product presentation
Rotating stock and checking freshness and use-by dates
Receiving and correctly storing deliveries
Cleaning and sanitising slicers, benches, utensils and work areas
Following food-safety, allergen-management and workplace safety procedures
Assisting in other areas of the store when required

ABOUT YOU
Friendly, reliable and confident speaking with customers
Passionate about quality food and excellent service




Able to work calmly and efficiently during busy periods
Solid attention to detail and pride in presentation
Comfortable performing hands-on duties and being on your feet
Available to work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with rotating shifts between 7:30am - 4pm or 10am - 6pm
Previous deli, food retail or hospitality experience is preferred, but training may be provided to the right person

Pay: $26.55 – $33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 30.0 per week
