BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Broadcast Operations Manager is responsible for the operational planning and delivery of Football Australia's broadcast activities across national teams, competitions and major events.
Working closely with broadcasters, rights holders, production partners and venues, this role ensures high-quality broadcast delivery across live and non-live environments. The position plays a key role in managing broadcast operations, stakeholder relationships, technical requirements and continuous improvement initiatives that support Football Australia's growing broadcast footprint.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities include:
Lead the operational planning and delivery of broadcast requirements across Football Australia competitions, national teams and major events
Manage relationships with broadcasters, rights holders, production companies and technical suppliers
Coordinate venue, production and connectivity requirements to ensure successful broadcast outcomes
Act as the key operational contact for broadcast partners and stakeholders
Monitor broadcast performance and manage operational issues as they arise
Support budgeting, supplier management and service delivery standards
Identify opportunities to improve broadcast systems, processes and workflows
Ensure a high-quality experience for broadcasters, production teams and Football Australia stakeholders
Contribute to the growth and ongoing development of Football Australia's broadcast capabilities and audience reach
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Significant experience in broadcast operations, live sport or media production
Strong understanding of live broadcast workflows and production environments
Experience working with broadcasters, rights holders and technical suppliers
Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and operational priorities
Strong planning, problem-solving and organisational skills
Experience managing suppliers, budgets and service delivery outcomes
Experience within qualified sport, football or a related industry is highly regarded
QUALIFICATIONS
Relevant qualification in Broadcasting, Media, Communications, Technology, Sport or a related discipline is desirable
Minimum 5 years' experience in broadcast operations or a related field
Football industry experience is desirable
