About this Role
At Ascham, teachers are responsible for the intellectual development and wellbeing of their students. They develop and deliver academic programs through the Dalton Plan, while also having a form class where they monitor the wellbeing of their students.

What You Will Do




Teach Science and Chemistry to girls in Years 7 to 12 according to the School's Dalton Principles of Responsibility, Independence, Collaboration and Reflection
Create a stimulating classroom setting where students can flourish
Use formative and summative assessment to determine student progress
Manage and work with students requiring extra support or with gaps in their knowledge, as well as neurodiverse and/or gifted students
Develop and use an innovative curriculum on the school's CANVAS Learning Management System
Offer activities to talented students including enrichment clubs.

What You Will Bring
A tertiary qualification in Chemistry and NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) accreditation
Proven ability to teach, lead, and achieve exceptional academic results in Stage 6 Chemistry, ideally supported by HSC marking experience and a deep understanding of NESA standards and assessment practices
Ability to teach to the strengths of girls and strong differentiation skills in the delivery of curriculum, as well as a flexible, innovative and collegiate approach
HSC marking experience
Excellent communication and writing skills, with strong attention to detail
Willingness to manage students in need of extra support in consultation with the Head of Science and Head of Learning Enhancement
Well-developed time management and organisational skills




Excellent ICT skills and a willingness to develop ICT skills within an environment where students bring a personal device to school
Willingness to carry out other duties as required by the Head of School that fall within the parameters of the role
Understanding of and commitment to WHS legislation and risk management principles
Current First Aid / CPR Certificates and a valid Working with Children clearance.
