Cathedral College Wangaratta welcomes applications from enthusiastic and qualified candidates for the full-time position of Middle and Senior School Performing Arts (Drama) teacher. The successful candidate will join a dedicated and committed team of staff who play a significant role in planning, delivering, and reflecting on Performing Arts across the Middle and Senior School.
Key Responsibilities
• Teach drama skills and concepts, fostering students' understanding, appreciation and exploration of drama as a performing art.
• Plan and deliver a balanced Drama program, effectively managing class time to ensure preparation, rehearsal, and instruction are completed within allocated timeframes.
• Provide differentiated instruction to individual students and small groups, adapting the Drama curriculum to meet diverse learning needs and encouraging each student to develop their Drama skills to their fullest potential.
• Utilise a diverse range of Drama literature, including traditional and contemporary works, that are appropriate to students' ages, abilities and skill levels.
• Maintain care/responsibility for school-owned equipment to prevent loss or abuse. Make minor adjustments and requests repairs to equipment as required.
• Evaluate each student's Drama growth, performance, and understanding. Assess each individual's contribution to the performance of the group.
• Have a proven ability to lead dramatic productions.
• Be passionate/willing to work as part of a vibrant team in the staging of Performing Arts events including the annual House Music, School Productions and Community Concerts.

Assist in the planning,



programming and all production requirements as required by the Head of Performing Arts. • Organise Performing Arts incursions, workshops and other performing arts-based performances, some of which may occur after school hours.
• Select appropriate books and instructional aids to enhance learning and requisition equipment and instructional supplies in collaboration with the Head of Performing Arts.
• Cooperate with Principal and staff in providing Performing Arts programs for school assemblies, school events, parent meetings and seasonal programs.
• Develop teaching programmes and assessments that comply with the Australian curriculum requirements, registration and accreditation requirements.
• Teach allocated classes, adapting instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of individual students
• Encourage and ensure holistic development and academic excellence for each child.
• Provide positive reinforcement and appropriate and timely feedback to students.
• Create and maintain safe, supportive, and challenging learning environments through effective classroom management practices.
• Attend staff meetings, faculty meetings and qualified learning days as scheduled.
• Participate in scheduled school events, including Parent-Teacher Interviews and Information Evening
• Undertake such other duties as directed by the Head of Performing Arts and Principal.
