Systems Engineer

Sydney | Hyrbid Working

This is a genuinely technical infrastructure role working across large-scale Linux, enterprise storage and HPC environments.

We’re looking for someone who knows storage properly - not just someone who has touched it as part of a broader infrastructure role.

You’ll be working across a multi-petabyte setting, spanning disk and tape, Linux, virtualisation, cloud, containers and high-performance infrastructure.

What you'll be doing

▸ Day-to-day administration of storage, compute and supporting infrastructure

▸ Managing large-scale, multi-petabyte storage environments across disk and tape

▸ Troubleshooting system, storage and performance issues

▸ Capacity planning, usage trending and storage lifecycle management

▸ Managing technologies including auto-tiering, replication and HSM

▸ Supporting Linux HA and clustered environments

▸ Integrating storage with HPC, cloud, virtualisation and container infrastructure





▸ Monitoring environments using Zabbix, Prometheus and Grafana

▸ Automating infrastructure and operational tasks using Ansible / IaC

What we're looking for

▸ Strong Linux systems administration experience

▸ Deep enterprise storage experience across both disk and tape

▸ Experience working with large-scale, multi-vendor storage environments

▸ Strong understanding of storage from the physical medium through to the application layer

▸ Experience Provisioning Pools

▸ Robust Linux HA / clustering knowledge

▸ Experience with Zabbix, Prometheus and Grafana

▸ DevOps / Infrastructure as Code experience, particularly Ansible

▸ Valuable understanding of networking and Linux-based infrastructure services

▸ Ability to use AI tooling responsibly to support day-to-day engineering
