Located 40 km east of Derby in WA’s Kimberley, Meda is a large-scale Brahman cattle station run by an experienced management team. We’re looking for people to join the Meda stockcamp in 2027 who want to learn, contribute and develop their skills with horses and cattle.
The season will run from April to November in 2027.
Horse riding experience is critical. Cattle experience is preferred, but we will still consider those who have other skills or experiences that are transferrable to a large cattle station.
The work
You’ll join the stock camp and get involved across the station, including:
Mustering cattle on horseback with helicopter support.
Working cattle in the yards.
Checking waters and helping with fencing.
General station maintenance and upkeep.
You’ll build practical skills throughout the season and learn how the different parts of a cattle station work together.
What we’re looking for
Competent horse riders who are confident handling a mixture of stock horses.
A willingness to listen, ask questions and learn.
Reliability, a solid work ethic, respect for others and a focus on safety.
Readiness for physically demanding outdoor work.
Commitment to the April–November season and an interest in continuing in the industry.
At Jumbuck, we value people who take pride in their work, look after their teammates and treat livestock with care.
What’s on offer
Day rate based on your experience.
End-of-season completion bonus.
Meals and single-person, air-conditioned accommodation.
Wi-Fi (Starlink).
Seven weeks’ annual leave, pro rata for the season.
Practical learning with an experienced station management team.
