Job Description

As Junior Sous Chef at HYDE, you’ll play a key role in delivering an exceptional culinary experience for our guests. Working closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen leadership team, you’ll help lead the brigade, maintain consistently high standards of food quality and presentation, and ensure a smooth and efficient service.

You’ll bring energy, creativity and strong kitchen leadership to every service, while supporting the development of our chefs and creating a positive, collaborative kitchen culture. From menu development and specials to ordering, stock control and cost management, you’ll have an key role in both the creative and operational success of the kitchen.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Support the Executive Chef in leading the kitchen and delivering consistently high culinary standards.
Lead and inspire the team during service, creating a positive and team-oriented kitchen workplace.




Oversee preparation, presentation and quality of food across the operation.
Coach, mentor and develop junior chefs, helping them grow their skills and confidence.
Assist with menu development, seasonal specials and creative culinary concepts.
Support ordering, stock control, food costing and waste reduction to achieve financial targets.
Ensure all food safety, hygiene, WHS and quality standards are consistently maintained.
Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen, including the care of all equipment.
Work collaboratively with F&B; and other hotel teams to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Stay curious about emerging culinary trends and bring fresh ideas and creativity to the kitchen.
