SALARY – $115,000 - $125,000 per annum, dependent on experience

LOCATION – Southwest Sydney, NSW

My client is a leading manufacturer of specialist products. They are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join their maintenance team in Southwest Sydney on a permanent basis.

n

The Mechanical Fitter will ideally have the following attributes:

n

n
At least 3 years of experience working as a Mechanical Fitter, Mechanical Technician, Maintenance Engineer or similar
n
Relevant mechanical trade qualification, such as Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting and Machining)
n
Previous experience working within a manufacturing, production, FMCG or industrial workplace
n
Solid mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
n
Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs
n
Strong knowledge of conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, motors, pneumatics and hydraulics
n
Experience with mechanical installations, repairs, servicing and machinery modifications
n
Able to read and interpret mechanical and engineering drawings
n
Experience with welding, fabrication or machining would be advantageous

A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
n
Valuable communication skills with the ability to work well in a cooperative environment
n

The Mechanical Fitter role will involve:

n

n
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across manufacturing equipment and site machinery
n
Responding to equipment breakdowns and carrying out mechanical fault-finding and repairs
n
Maintaining and repairing conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, motors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
n
Carrying out machinery installations, modifications and mechanical improvements
n
Assisting with commissioning and installation
n
Identifying recurring mechanical issues and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
n
Completing maintenance records and ensuring accurate documentation is maintained
n
Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime and maximise plant performance
n
Working in accordance with relevant health and safety procedures
n
