Salary:$79,000 to $85,000 plus applicable superannuation

Join the Team
Business is seeking an experienced Automotive Electrician to join its team.
You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of vehicles including 4x4 and off-road vehicles.
Candidates must have experience with installing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the electrical and electronic systems of vehicles.
Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
Diagnose electrical and electronic faults using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and other testing equipment.
Dismantling, inspecting and replacing defective electrical and electronic components and assemblies.
Install, maintain and repair automotive electrical systems, wiring, and electronic components
Repair and replace wiring, electrical components, connectors, fuses, relays, and circuits.
Install and maintain batteries, alternators, starter motors, lighting systems, and charging systems.




Install vehicle accessories such as alarms, immobilisers, reversing cameras, parking sensors, GPS systems, audio systems, and communication equipment.
Installing and connecting electrical equipment, electronic components, and vehicle accessories to vehicle power supplies.
Install and integrate 4x4 and automotive electrical accessories, including auxiliary lighting, driving lights and LED lighting.
Carry out electrical wiring and connections for 4x4 accessories and auxiliary vehicle systems.
Install and maintain dual-battery and auxiliary power systems, including associated electrical components and charging equipment.
Carry out electrical installation and wiring for winches and other electrically operated vehicle accessories.
Diagnose and repair electronic engine-management and vehicle-control systems.
Test and repair vehicle lighting, including headlights, indicators, brake lights, and warning systems and aftermarket driving/auxiliary lights.
Work with electronic systems such as ABS, airbags, traction control, sensors, and driver-assistance systems.
Read and interpret wiring diagrams, circuit diagrams, technical manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
Carry out preventative maintenance and electrical inspections.




Test and verify newly installed electrical accessories and systems to ensure correct and secure operation.
Diagnose electrical faults associated with aftermarket vehicle accessories and modifications.
Record faults, repairs, parts used, and testing results.
Follow Australian workplace health and safety requirements and manufacturer procedures.
Communicate with customers, mechanics, supervisors, and other automotive tradespeople about faults and repairs and electrical accessory installations.
Keep the work area, tools, and equipment clean, safe, and properly maintained.
Qualifications:
Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology
Three years of experience can be used in lieu of the qualification.
Experience Required:
At least 1 year of experience in highly relevant role
Other skills and requirements:
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems and electronic systems.
Experience with automotive electrical diagnostics and fault finding.
Experience installing and wiring automotive electrical accessories.
Knowledge of 4x4 and auxiliary vehicle electrical systems will be highly regarded.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Good problem-solving skills.
Hold a valid Driver's license.
