The Northern Territory AIDS and Hepatitis Council delivers evidence-informed, peer-led services across blood-borne viruses, sexual health, harm reduction, care and support, community education and advocacy. Its vision is for communities to live healthy lives free from stigma and discrimination. The Northern Territory AIDS and Hepatitis Council is seeking a leader with a genuine commitment to the Northern Territory. You may already live in the NT, be a former Territorian ready to return, or bring a strong connection to the Territory and a clear commitment to building your future here. The role is based in Darwin and involves travel across the NT. Relocation support is available.
Your new role
The Northern Territory AIDS and Hepatitis Council is seeking a values-led Executive Director to guide its next chapter of impact, sustainability and growth.
Reporting to the Board, you will lead The Northern Territory AIDS and Hepatitis Council's strategy, services, people and performance. Key priorities include:
Delivering the ********* Strategic Plan
Strengthening accessible, culturally safe and community-informed services
Leading organisational performance, finance,



governance and risk
Building an inclusive, capable and values-aligned workforceDeepening relationships with communities, government, funders and sector partners
Advancing advocacy and diversifying funding
What you'll need to succeed
You are an experienced executive who combines strategic capability with authentic, collaborative leadership. You will bring:
Senior leadership experience in health, community services, government or the for-purpose sector
Experience working with a Board and leading organisational performance
Solid operational, financial, governance and people leadership
Credibility with government, funders and diverse communities
Commitment to peer-led practice, cultural safety, harm reduction and health equity
A relevant tertiary qualification
Knowledge of HIV, viral hepatitis, sexually transmissible infections or sexual health will be highly regarded. Candidates with relevant lived or living experience or have deep experience working alongside The Northern Territory AIDS and Hepatitis Council's priority communities are encouraged to apply.
