Job Description

MWH Treatment are looking to strengthen our SHEQ team with a SHEQ Advisor based in the South West Water region. Interim maternity cover is required 2 days a week until June **** within the Thames Region (Guildford).
n

You will report directly to the Regional Senior SHEQ Advisor and your role will cover advising the SHEQ team.
Key Responsibilities n
n
Understanding our approach to managing SHEQ risk and delivering best in class performance.
n
Maintaining a dynamic and driven approach to supporting SHEQ across the company.
n
Monitoring and reviewing the closure/completion of corrective actions to ensure that they deliver clear improvements and have been suitably and effectively implemented.
n
Organising audits and supporting the delivery and execution of SHEQ assurance visits.
n
Conducting accident/incident investigations and/or supporting investigations conducted by the H&S; Team.
n
Integrating within the wider project teams to understand day to day challenges.
n
Working with our clients to deliver collaborative approaches to SHEQ.
n
Exposure to the project management lifecycle of project delivery.
n
Highlighting opportunity for sustainable solutions.
n
Trending and analysis of key performance data.
n
Maintenance of our externally certified management systems.
n
Technical Competencies n
n
Working knowledge of UK health & safety legislation, CDM Regulations, and HSE guidance
n
Experience with SHEQ management systems (e.g. OHSAS ***** / ISO standards) and audit processes
n
Data analysis, reporting, and trend identification

Essential Qualifications and Experience n
n
Experience in the Construction sector
n
Ability to travel to all sites in region
n
Knowledge of current and pending HSE Directives for health and safety
n
Knowledge of current statutory health and safety law in the UK
n
Knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM)
n
Knowledge of valuable practice in construction, e.g. HSE guidance and approved codes of practice.
n
Knowledge of OHSAS ***** (or similar management systems)
n
Formal qualification in Occupational Safety and Health, e.g. NEBOSH diploma or better.
n
Membership of recognised H&S; Institution to an appropriate level.
n
Desirable Qualifications and Experience n
n
Experience in the water sector
n
Current full driving licence
n
Ability to collect, analyse and evaluate large volumes of data whilst maintaining data integrity.
n
Ability to identify trends in data and clearly articulate the issue or findings.
n
Proven experience of working as part of a SHEQ team.
n
Ability to interpret legislation and Approved codes of Practise.
n
Good organisational and time management skills.
n
Ability to work both as a team member and under own initiative.
n
Good communicator who's comfortable engaging at all levels within the organisation as you will be advising the team at a senior level.
n
Confidence to make decisions whilst recognising when appropriate to consolidate issues or concerns.
n
Good Microsoft Office skills especially Visio, Excel and PowerPoint.
n
CSCS card
n
Technical or Certified membership of IOSH
n
Construction-related health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH Construction.
n
