nAbout the Opportunity n
nOn behalf of our client, a premium producer in the dairy industry, we are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Technician to join their state-of-the-art butter production facility in French's Forest.n
nThis is not a standard "break-fix" role. Our client is looking for a technically minded professional who enjoys the engineering challenges of optimizing, testing, and maintaining high-end European food processing and packaging machinery. You will be a key technical lead, ensuring that complex mechanical systems operate to the highest engineering standards.n
n
nThe Equipment You Will Manage n
nYou will be responsible for the technical integrity of a sophisticated plant, including:n
n• Butter Processing: Egli continuous churns, extrusion silos, and surface scrap heat exchangers.n
n• Packaging & Dosing: Trepko XPG-40, Corazza FB 220, Benhill Microfix Homogenisers, and Packserv fillers.n
n• Fluid & Process Control: Ampco Rotary Lobe, Sawa Centrifugal pumps, and Bardiani Mix-proof valve clusters.n
n• Thermal Systems: Moorea condensing boilers, Thermex Solutions chillers, and Teralba heat exchangers.n
n
nKey Responsibilities include:n
n• Testing & Evaluation: Conduct rigorous performance testing on fluid handling and thermal systems to ensure they meet engineering design specifications.n
n• Installation & Commissioning: Lead the assembly and precision installation of new mechanical plant assets and equipment modifications.n
n• Advanced Diagnostics:
Perform high-level fault-finding and root-cause analysis on complex automated dosing and wrapping lines.n
n• Technical Documentation: Interpret and update technical drawings (AutoCAD) and mechanical schematics to support site upgrades.n
n• System Optimization: Assist Mechanical Engineers in the design and implementation of equipment modifications to improve production efficiency.n
n• Compliance: Ensure all mechanical systems comply with WHS regulations and food safety standards (HACCP/GMP).n

nWhat We Are Looking Forn
n• Qualifications: A Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification).n
n• Experience: At least 3–5 years of experience in a mechanical technician role, ideally within a dairy, pharmaceutical, or high-care FMCG environment.n
n• Technical Savvy: Deep understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, sanitary valve technology, and high-speed packaging machinery.n
n• Analytical Mindset: Ability to collect and analyze diagnostic data to move from reactive to predictive maintenance.n
n• Precision: A high level of attention to detail and a pride in maintaining equipment to "as-new" standards.n
