Job Description
About the opportunity
IFYS has an exciting opportunity for a Youth Development Worker to join the team at The Old Church Youth Accommodation program in Nambour.
The Old Church Youth Accommodation program provides young people aged 16 to 25 with safe accommodation, as well as services that enable positive education and employment outcomes, to help them build careers and transition into their own accommodation.

$80, 000 per annum pro rata + superannuation – IFYS is committed to gender pay equity
Part-time hourly equivalent $***** + applicable penalty rates

Key responsibilities
Provide client-centred and strengths-based coaching and support to young people to facilitate their transition to independence




Work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders and services and maintain effective working relationships
Participate in the implementation of pre-employment/living skills programs and facilitate house meetings with young people.
Ensure the service provides a safe, effective, hygienic and comfortable environment. Assist the Coordinator to manage and maintain all aspects of the client's tenancy and timely completion of administrative duties
Requirements for the role
Experience working within homelessness, transitional housing, or youth services
High understanding of and commitment to working in a client-centred, strengths-based, and trauma-informed framework
Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with clients, staff, and external stakeholders
A high level of computer and systems literacy
Availability to complete a range of shifts over a 24/7 roster, including weekends and sleep overs
Tertiary qualification in a related field (desirable but not required)
Must hold or be willing to obtain if successful
Valid Queensland driver's license with no restrictions
QLD Working with Children Check (Paid Blue Card)
Licensed Care Suitability Check (LCS2)
National Crime Check (A new check will be completed through IFYS systems)
Ability to provide two recent line manager references (including your current employer)

Week One
Friday: 12:30pm to 9:00pm
Saturday: 4:30pm to 8:30am (sleep over)
Week Two
Wednesday: 2:30pm to 8:30am (sleep over)
Thursday: 4:30pm to 8:30am (sleep over)
Saturday: 8:00am to 5:00pm
Sunday: 8:00am to 5:00pm
Week Three
Monday: 4:30pm to 8:30am (sleep over)
Wednesday: 12:30pm to 9:00pm
Thursday: 12:30pm to 9:00pm
Friday: 4:30pm to 8:30am (sleep over)
Week Four
Monday: 8:00am to 5:00pm
Tuesday: 4:30pm to 8.30am (sleep over)
Friday: 4:30pm to 8:30am (sleep over)
