Trade Certificate (Cert III in Engineering Fabrication Trade) or Aboven
n3-4 Years minimum work experience n a similar rolen

nExperience within a fabrication workshop or manufacturing based role is essential. n

nOn the job training will be provided.n

nJOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESn
nReporting directly to your workshop/area supervisor you will be required to work autonomously and within a manufacturing team to assist in the fabrication and assembly of components.n
n• Assemble and install metal pipes and pipe fittings for stainless and carbon steel projectsn
n• Use clamps, brackets, and hangers to secure pipes to structuresn
n• Remove slags and rough spots from workpieces by operating grinders or scrapers to ensure smooth work surfacen
n• Employ your knowledge of metallurgy to determine materials and equipment most suitable for a welding project • Clean and preparen
nworkpieces using chemical solutions etc. to remove foreign matter such as grease, rust etc.n




n• Use heating furnaces to preheat metal pipes prior to welding or bendingn
n• Cut and shape metal components to set specifications using powersaws, chipping knives or other hand toolsn
n• Fill holes, cracks, and dents on metal workpieces or pipe productsn
n• Use micrometers, calipers and other precision measuring instruments to check gap allowances, grooves or anglesn
n• Assemble metal and non-metal pipes and pipe fitting using threading machinen
n• Control and turn valves or regulators to adjust flames and ensure proper use of welding gasn
n• Wear appropriate protective gear and ensure compliance with established health/safety regulationsn
nExperience within a fabrication workshop or manufacturing based role is essential. n
