The Position n
We are seeking experienced Automotive
Mechanics/Technicians
to join our South Roadside Patrol team, with multiple full-time opportunities available.
n

This role offers a adaptable, supportive and secure working environment where you can use your technical expertise and customer service skills to make a real difference-providing trusted roadside support to RAC members when they need it most.
New to Roadside Patrol? We'll train you. n
No roadside patrol experience is required. Whether you're an experienced Roadside Patrol or Automotive
Mechanic/technician
new to the role, you'll receive four to six weeks of comprehensive training before working independently.
n
Your training includes an introduction to RAC, its products, services and employee entitlements, defensive driving, and supervised ride-along with a senior patrol.
About The Role n
Working on a flexible rotating roster of 8-hour shifts between 6:00am and 11:30pm, Monday to Sunday, you will:

Respond to roadside assistance callouts, delivering prompt and reliable mechanical support
n
Diagnose and troubleshoot a wide range of vehicle breakdowns
n
Perform minor repairs including batteries, tyres, jump-starts and adjustments
n
Provide outstanding customer service in high-pressure situations
n
Coordinate towing or specialist support where required
n
Maintain accurate service records in line with RAC policies
n
Start your day from a designated RAC location
n
What We're Looking For n
n
Proven experience as an Automotive
Mechanic/Technician
with strong diagnostic capability
n
Relevant automotive trade qualification
n
Motor Vehicle Repairer's Licence (light vehicle) Desirable
n
Current driver's licence with a clean record
n
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
n
Excellent communication skills with a customer-first mindset
n
Ability to stay calm and supportive under pressure
n
