Job Description
Sales And Business Development Everi Pty•Canberra, ACT, AU
n
Job Description
n
Someone who can sell. Someone who loves people. Someone who's happy getting out on the road, walking into a café or restaurant and starting a conversation. Someone who notices opportunities, follows things through and doesn't need to be told what to do next.
n
And, particularly while we're building our Canberra presence, someone who's quite happy wearing a few different hats.
n
If that sounds like you, keep reading.
n
About WGA
n
WGA Food Equipment has been supporting the hospitality industry since ****, supplying commercial kitchen equipment, tableware, glassware, kitchenware, uniforms and everyday hospitality essentials.
n
We're now bringing WGA to Canberra.
n
We're not interested in becoming another faceless online equipment retailer competing purely on price.
n
We want to build something much more valuable: a trusted local hospitality supplier that knows its customers, understands their businesses and is there when they need us.
n
That's where you come in.
n
The Opportunity
n
We're looking for an energetic, capable and genuinely personable Sales & Business Development person to help establish and grow WGA Canberra.
n
This isn't a role where you'll sit behind a desk waiting for enquiries to arrive.
n
You'll be out meeting café owners, chefs, restaurants, pubs, clubs, caterers, schools, aged-care facilities and other hospitality operators across Canberra and the surrounding region.
n
You'll introduce WGA, learn about their businesses, find out what they need and become someone they know they can call when they need anything from a box of glasses to a new dishwasher or complete commercial kitchen equipment package.
n
You'll also help us understand the Canberra market - who's opening, who's expanding, what customers are asking for and where the opportunities are.
n
In many ways, you'll become the face of WGA in Canberra.
n
What You'll Be Doing
n
n
Getting out on the road and introducing WGA to hospitality businesses throughout Canberra
n
Taking orders, picking up stock and making deliveries
n
Building genuine, long-term customer relationships
n
Generating new business through calls, emails, visits, networking and good old-fashioned conversations
n
Following up enquiries and preparing quotes
n
Working with customers to source the right equipment and supplies for their needs
n
Following up quotes and opportunities rather than waiting for the phone to ring
n
Developing relationships with chefs, venue owners, managers and procurement teams
n
Identifying new venues, refurbishments, developments and other sales opportunities
n
Looking after existing WGA customers in the region
n
Working closely with our Albion Park team on pricing, purchasing, stock, dispatch and deliveries
n
Helping us refine our Canberra product range based on what local customers actually want
n
Representing WGA at local hospitality events, supplier demonstrations and industry opportunities
n
Pitching in wherever needed as we establish and grow the Canberra operation
n
n
There will be targets and accountability - we're building a serious business - but we believe great sales come from great relationships, consistent follow-up and actually looking after people.
n
About the Candidate
n
Hospitality or commercial kitchen equipment experience would be fantastic, but we're equally interested in the right person.
n
You might currently work in hospitality, foodservice, equipment sales, wholesale, business development or another relationship-driven sales environment.
n
You may even be a chef or hospitality manager who's ready to step away from the kitchen or venue floor but doesn't want to leave the industry behind.
n
More importantly, you're someone who:
n
n
Loves talking to people and building relationships
n
Is confident walking into a business and introducing yourself
n
Has a natural sales instinct without being pushy
n
Is organised and follows things through
n
Spots opportunities and acts on them
n
Is comfortable working independently
n
Has initiative and doesn't wait to be given a list every morning
n
Can juggle several things at once without losing sight of the customer
n
Is commercially minded and understands that relationships ultimately need to translate into sales
n
Wants to help build something rather than simply inherit an established territory
n
Takes pride in being reliable and doing what they say they'll do
n
n
And perhaps most importantly, you're the sort of person customers genuinely enjoy dealing with.
n
Why This Role Is Different
n
You'll be joining WGA at a pretty exciting moment.
n
Canberra isn't an established branch where everything has already been decided. You'll be there at the beginning.
n
You'll have the backing of an established business, supplier relationships, systems, product knowledge and our Albion Park team - but you'll also have the chance to shape what WGA Canberra becomes.
n
As the Canberra business grows, we want this role to grow with it.
n
For someone ambitious, entrepreneurial and excited by the idea of helping build a business within a business, there's a genuine opportunity here to make your mark.
n
The Practical Stuff
n
This is a Canberra-based role involving regular travel throughout the ACT and surrounding region, so a current driver's licence is essential.
n
Experience in hospitality, commercial foodservice, equipment, wholesale or B2B sales will be highly regarded, but attitude, initiative and relationship‐building ability matter enormously to us.
n
Remuneration will include a competitive base salary with an incentive structure that rewards genuine sales growth and performance.
