Benmax is seeking a HSEQ Manager to join our team in Queanbeyan, NSW, working closely with the Service team to lead health, safety, setting and quality outcomes across the division.
n
This is a hands‐on leadership role for someone who knows how to translate WHS and environmental requirements into practical, site‐ready systems, and who genuinely enjoys developing people. You'll lead a team of HSEQ Coordinators, support our integrated management system, and act as the go‐to technical voice on all things HSEQ.

Reporting to the Head of HSEQ & Compliance, you'll be based at our Queanbeyan office and work closely with the Benmax Service team day to day. It's a chance to shape how HSEQ is delivered across a growing division, backed by an experienced leadership team.

What you'll be doing
n
n
Leading and developing our HSEQ Coordinators, including workload planning and performance conversations
n
Supporting the integrated management system and internal/external audits, including closing out findings
n
Overseeing hazard and incident reporting, investigation and root cause analysis
n
Reporting HSEQ performance and trends to the leadership team
n
Monitoring changes to WHS and environmental legislation and Australian Standards
n
Delivering HSEQ inductions and training for staff, apprentices and subcontractors
n
Reviewing subcontractor HSEQ documentation and site performance
n
Preparing HSEQ content for tenders and client prequalification

Managing environmental obligations and emergency response planning on projects
n
Maintaining plant, equipment, chemical and licence registers
n

What we're looking for
n
n
Diploma of Work Health and Safety or higher, white card and current driver's licence (essential)
n
Minimum five years' experience as a senior HSEQ advisor or HSEQ manager
n
Sound knowledge of the WHS Act and Regulations in NSW and the ACT
n
Understanding of AS/NZS ISO *****, ISO ***** and ISO **** in a certified integrated management system
n
Experience with incident investigation, root cause analysis and supporting external audits
n
Practical understanding of construction risk, including heights, confined spaces, electrical and hot works
n
Confidence delivering training and presenting to groups
n
Team leadership experience is highly regarded
n
n
Tertiary qualifications in Training and Assessment or Leadership Management and internal auditor training are all desirable but not essential.
