Job Description
As Assistant Centre Director (2IC) & Educational Leader, you will work closely with and support the Centre Director at Friendship Square Early Learning Centre, a community-run, not-for-profit, Reggio Emilia-inspired centre in Cheltenham. You will help lead the day-to-day operations of the Centre while providing educational leadership, mentoring and support to the team of dedicated educators.

Key responsibilities

Work closely with and support the Centre Director
n
Provide visible, hands‐on leadership and support to educators
n
Coach and mentor educators to strengthen educational practice
n
Lead high‐quality curriculum, programming and reflective practice
n
Support the Centre's Quality Improvement Plan and continuous improvement
n
Assist with staffing, rostering, compliance and day‐to‐day Centre operations
n
Build positive relationships with children, families and the team
n
Step into the leadership of the Centre when the Director is unavailable
n

About you
n
n
An ACECQA-approved Diploma-level early childhood qualification or higher
n
Experience working in an early childhood education and care service
n
A passion for early childhood education and high-quality educational practice
n
The confidence and experience to lead, mentor and support other educators
n
Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standard and approved learning frameworks
n
Excellent communication, organisation and relationship‐building skills
n
A collaborative mindset and positive attitude
n
Current Working with Children Check or VIT registration
n
Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
n
Current child protection and child safety training
n
Versatile full-time or part‐time working arrangements
n
