The Role: The Director Housing Policy Projects will develop and advise on opportunities to improve affordability, accessibility, and sustainability of South Australia's housing market and supply, through best practice policy development and program delivery.
The Director Housing Policy Projects will provide strategic advice, manage stakeholder relationships, develop policy and implement projects, leading a small high performing team who will support the Deputy Chief Executive (DCE)
in achieving the following cross portfolio objectives: You will hold the following responsibilities: Develop policy and deliver projects or reforms that require collaboration where multiple divisions of DHUD are required to collaborate and provide input to achieve improved housing outcomes (i.e. affordable housing policy).
Lead change and innovation to policy, systems and procedures where necessary to unlock the delivery of more houses, faster across the DHUD broader portfolio (i.e. SA Housing Roadmap and related updates) Provide support, guidance and advice to the DCE and ensure accountability for the delivery of projects and reforms, including initiatives for Housing Roadmap 2 and Federal funding programs (Housing Australia Future Fund and Housing Support Program).
Coordinate and lead discussions with the Commonwealth and counterparts in states and territories across the country on a broad range of Housing matters, including support for the Delivery Coordinators and Housing and Homelessness Senior Officers meetings and the Housing Policy Officer Network.
About You: To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities: Extensive executive level experience in a state,
local or federal government department Extensive experience in developing and leading high performing teams Extensive experience in developing significant and complex policy and projects Extensive experience in corporate and strategic planning for complex and diverse organisational functions Extensive experience at a senior level in government and a comprehensive understanding of the workings of government.
Extensive experience delivering policy, managing programs and managing resources in a complex environment requiring sound judgement and management of risk.
Special Conditions Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment.
A renewal may be required every 3 years.
