We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a highly regarded and well-established pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Eastern Melbourne .
Only applicants residing in Australia will be considered for this position.
Principal Duties: The mechanical maintenance technician leads the production facility to ensure our systems and equipment are reliably operating.
The technician will work to resolve production breakdowns and support the maintenance system by conducting root cause analysis to ensure they do not reoccur.
They also play a key role in capital projects through equipment installations to improve reliability and output of the plant.
The successful candidate will be hands-on, technically strong and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where preventative and reactive maintenance are critical to maintaining production.
Reporting to the maintenance leadership team, you will be responsible for: Performing preventative and reactive maintenance across high-speed production equipment and machinery Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults Supporting production to minimise equipment downtime Conducting fault finding,
troubleshooting and repairs Assisting with planned maintenance, shutdowns and continuous improvement initiatives Maintaining equipment reliability and ensuring production standards are met Working closely with production, engineering and maintenance teams Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and in accordance with site procedures Maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation Contributing to a strong safety, quality and continuous improvement culture Experience and Competencies Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician / Maintenance Fitter in Manufacturing Safety emphasis with solid focus on process JSEA, SWMS.
Certificate III Engineering - Mechanical Trade or higher.
Demonstratable understanding of or qualification in Pneumatics and Hydraulics.
Cat A qualifications for electrical isolation and resets preferable or willing to complete.
Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills The ability to work autonomously as well as part of a wider maintenance team A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and equipment reliability Familiarity with CMMS.
