Trades Assistant Smithfield | Full-Time | $******* per hour + Benefits About the Company Our client is an established and reputable organization with a solid focus on delivering quality products and professional service to its customers.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking a reliable and hands-on Trades Assistant to join their Service Centre team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a mechanical background who enjoys practical workshop-based work and is looking to develop their skills within a supportive and professional environment.

Hours: Monday to Friday | 7:00am – 3:00pm Hourly Rate: $******* per hour Annual Base Salary: $65,****** Overtime paid at double time from the first 15 minutes 5 weeks annual leave Training and development opportunities Stable, full-time opportunity with an established organization About the Role As a Trades Assistant , you will provide hands-on support to Service Technicians with the disassembly, assembly, servicing and preparation of customer products.
Working under the guidance of qualified technicians and reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will play an important role in ensuring products are serviced, prepared and completed to a high standard while maintaining a safe, clean and organized workshop.
Key Responsibilities Assist Service Technicians with the disassembly and assembly of customer products Clean,
organise and prepare parts and equipment Maintain a clean, tidy and organised workshop environment Receive and assist with incoming product deliveries Assist with painting and final assembly of products Pack and prepare completed products for shipment Assist Service Technicians with repairs, servicing and other workshop activities Operate plant and equipment, including forklifts and overhead cranes Follow all company policies, procedures and WHS requirements Maintain positive and professional working relationships with Service Centre team members About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Previous general mechanical experience Practical, hands-on experience in a workshop, service or similar environment Experience working with mechanical products or similar equipment Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship A positive attitude and willingness to learn Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Strong commitment to workplace health and safety Forklift Licence – preferred Previous overhead crane experience – preferred If you're a motivated and reliable Trades Assistant looking for a stable Monday-to-Friday opportunity with excellent benefits, training opportunities and the chance to further develop your mechanical skills, we'd love to hear from you.
