Job description Civil Engineer– Development Corridor Management $ *****-$74 per hour + Super | Nerang | Contract until 31 December **** An opportunity is available for a Civil Engineer to join a Queensland Government team responsible for protecting and managing the state-controlled road network.
This is a great role for a civil engineer who enjoys technical assessment, development applications, stakeholder engagement and solving problems that have a real impact on how our roads operate.
About the role Working within the Corridor Management team, you'll assess development and infrastructure proposals from developers, contractors and other third parties where their work may affect the state-controlled road network.
Your day will include: Reviewing applications for proposed works and infrastructure within road corridors Providing civil engineering advice on development and third-party activities Reviewing technical designs and assessing potential impacts on road safety and operations Monitoring and auditing approved works to ensure conditions and permits are being followed Preparing technical reports, correspondence and advice for stakeholders and the public Supporting the investigation of complaints and requests relating to development and third-party works Working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical and operational issues You'll work under the guidance of senior engineering staff while managing projects or components of projects and contributing to planning, design review and development assessment.
About you You are a Civil Engineer with experience in areas such as:



Development assessment or development engineering Road or transport infrastructure Civil design or technical design review Infrastructure approvals or corridor management Construction compliance or monitoring Local or state government engineering You don't need to have worked in exactly the same role before.
We're looking for someone who can apply sound civil engineering principles, communicate confidently with stakeholders and understand how development and construction activities can affect the road network.
Essential requirements Four-year Washington Accord-accredited Bachelor of Engineering, or an equivalent qualification assessed by Engineers Australia Current Class C driver's licence Construction Industry Induction (White Card) If you're looking to move beyond traditional design or construction and into development assessment, transport infrastructure and road corridor management, we'd like to hear from you.
