Senior People Culture Business Partner Government organisation | Inner suburbs of Melbourne | Full-time | Ongoing | Hybrid working | 3 days in the office, 2 days from home Senior P C role with a broad community-focused portfolio Hybrid working: 3 days in office, 2 days working from home Ongoing opportunity with a salary of $108,000 – $121,000 + super About the organisation We are partnering with a government organisation based in Melbourne's inner suburbs to recruit an experienced Senior People Culture Business Partner.
This is an opportunity to join a purpose-driven organisation that plays an important role in supporting its local community and delivering a broad range of community, infrastructure and environmental services.
You'll join a collaborative People Culture team and work closely with senior leaders, managers and employees across the organisation, providing trusted HR advice and partnering on a range of people initiatives.
About the role Reporting to the People Culture Business Partnering Lead, you will provide senior-level HR expertise across the employee lifecycle, with a strong focus on employee relations, industrial relations, performance management, policy and strategic HR partnering.
The key portfolios of interest for this role are Family, Youth Children Services and Libraries, Arts Events, so experience supporting these types of community-focused environments will be highly regarded.
Key responsibilities Provide trusted, high-level HR advice and guidance to leaders across the organisation Manage and advise on complex employee and industrial relations matters Provide advice on performance management, misconduct, disciplinary matters and investigations Interpret and apply Enterprise Agreements, legislation, policies and employment conditions Partner with managers to resolve employee relations matters and workplace issues Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, managers,
employees and union representatives Develop and review HR policies, procedures and contemporary people practices Lead and contribute to organisation-wide HR projects and initiatives Prepare and analyse workforce reporting and provide insights to support workforce planning Coach and empower leaders to effectively manage people matters Support organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives About you: Extensive experience in a generalist HR Business Partnering role Strong ER/IR experience, ideally within a unionised environment Demonstrated experience managing complex performance, conduct, grievance and investigation matters Strong knowledge of employment legislation, Enterprise Agreements and HR policies Experience developing and implementing HR policies, procedures and programs Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels Strong communication, coaching, facilitation and influencing skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability Tertiary qualifications in HR or a related discipline Experience within Government, Local Government, community services, health, children services or another complex organisation will be highly regarded Why apply?
