You'll apply your mental health nursing expertise to support bed management, accreditation, and risk processes — work that strengthens how care is delivered across Mental Health.
About the role: Reporting to the Nursing Director, this role is integral to connecting clinical teams, bed management, and patient journey oversight to support safe, timely care across the organisation.
Duties for the role will include: Coordinating real-time patient flow across inpatient units, emergency pathways, and discharge processes to optimise bed utilisation.
Collaborating with nursing, medical, and allied health teams to identify and resolve capacity or access barriers.
Monitoring patient/client care plans to ensure appropriate care outcomes are achieved on a daily basis.
Monitoring and escalating emerging flow issues through established SALHN protocols and communication frameworks.
Supporting accurate data capture and reporting to inform operational decision-making at ward and executive level.
About you: Registered as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds a current practicing certificate.
Must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice.
Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent,



post registration experience.
Demonstrated competence in Mental Health nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards Experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
Ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines, whilst working under minimal supervision.
