Work in an environment that offers: An opportunity to work with a leading regional health service Excellent public health exposure across a range of regional stakeholders A strong attitude to teaching and supportive staff The Position Position Title: Public Health Physician (Fixed term – possibility to extend) Classification: HN19 to HN59 (Fractional Specialist Year 1 – 9) Salary per hour (exc. super): $****** - $****** Hours per fortnight: 42 hours per fortnight / 0.6 FTE Employment Status : Fixed term Part Time Other requirements: Specialist Registration with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine Closing date: 09/10/2026 This is a Senior Medical Position and carries with it the professional responsibilities of public health leadership, teaching and training as well as administrative requirements.
The position reports to the Clinical Unit Head – Public Health Unit.
The position is suitable for a Public Health Physician.
The Public Health Physician is expected to provide high level public health medical input into the Loddon-Mallee Public Health Unit (LMPHU).
The role has a strong focus on health protection with opportunities to provide public health medical expertise to the unit's population health work.

Your New Division The Chief Executive Officer within the Office of the CEO, has overall responsibility for the operation of the entire organisation and delivery of the strategic plan.
The office also includes General Counsel and the General Manager of the Loddon Mallee Health Network (LMHN).
Bendigo Health's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is the Chair of the LMHN.
General Counsel provides legal advice to the Board of Directors, Executive Team and CEO to ensure Bendigo Health satisfies legal standards.
Reporting to the Chair of the LMHN, the General Manager of the LMHN ensures Bendigo Health fulfils its' responsibilities as the leading member and advances the regional health services' collective priorities and build a robust and connected health system.
The Loddon Mallee Public Health Unit The Loddon-Mallee Public Health Unit (LMPHU) works to keep our regional community healthy, safe and well.
We use local knowledge,



community-based relationships and direct engagement to effectively tailor and deliver public health initiatives and respond to incidents and issues within the Loddon-Mallee region.
First established in **** to manage local cases and outbreaks of COVID-19, the LMPHU now has a wider range of responsibility for the prevention and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases and health threats.
The LMPHU works in partnership with primary, acute and community health services, state government agencies, local governments and local communities to promote health and wellbeing, and tackle inequalities in health, for all those living in the Loddon-Mallee region.
