Vacancy Details: Position: Duty Manager Job Type: Casual Tenure: Permanent Location: St Arnaud Package: $***** per hour (Including 25% casual loading) plus superannuation Download Position Description: Duty Manager Position Description Applications Close: Sunday 4 October **** About the opportunity Northern Grampians Shire Council is looking for a Leisure Assistant (Duty Manager) to join our team and help deliver a safe, welcoming and enjoyable experience for our community.
As Duty Manager, you'll play an important role in the day-to-day operation of our aquatic facilities, ensuring our patrons are safe, our facilities are well presented and our customers receive great service.
About the role What you'll be doing: Supervising patrons and user groups to ensure water safety and compliance with pool procedures and industry standards.
Taking responsibility for the facility as Duty Manager, including responding to incidents, managing customer concerns and supporting staff.
Conducting regular pool deck safety checks and monitoring water play equipment and the water slide.
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation across the facility.
Responding to and accurately recording accidents, incidents and customer complaints.
Providing friendly and knowledgeable customer service and assisting patrons with enquiries.
Processing pool entries and kiosk sales, including cash handling and receipting.
Undertaking water testing and assisting with the maintenance of aquatic facilities and equipment.
Supporting Learn to Swim programs, sporting events and recreational activities.
Promoting the use of our facilities and helping create a positive experience for everyone who visits.
About you We're looking for someone who is safety-focused, customer-minded and confident taking responsibility in a busy aquatic workplace.
You will bring: Current Pool Lifeguard qualification Current Level 2 First Aid certification Current Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC)
recognised resuscitation certification Pool Operators Course or equivalent Sound knowledge of pool supervision, water safety, water education, first aid, resuscitation and rescue techniques An understanding of public safety requirements, relevant legislation, codes of practice and health and safety regulations relating to aquatic facilities Knowledge and proficiency in water treatment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A strong commitment to delivering high-quality customer service The ability to implement and maintain high standards of supervision and safety The confidence to make decisions, respond to incidents and take responsibility as Duty Manager To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: Relevant qualifications and certifications as outlined above.
Sound knowledge of pool supervision, water safety, water education, first aid, resuscitation, rescue techniques and public safety requirements.
The ability to maintain and implement the highest standards of supervision and safety.
A genuine commitment to providing quality customer service.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patrons, user groups and team members.
