Job Description As the Senior Risk Compliance Consultant, you'll play a key role in helping AFCA build and operate a robust risk, compliance and assurance framework for a nationally significant scheme designed to improve outcomes for consumers impacted by scams.
Working across a complex regulatory environment, you'll help ensure risks are identified, obligations are managed, controls are effective, and assurance activities drive continuous improvement.
About the Role Reporting to the Strategic Lead, Scheme Integrity Assurance, you'll support the implementation and ongoing operation of AFCA's Scams Prevention Framework dispute resolution arrangements through the delivery of risk, compliance and assurance activities.
This is initially a max-term contract until July ****.
In this role, you will: Support the development, implementation and ongoing enhancement of the risk and compliance arrangements for the Scams EDR program and scheme.
Coordinate risk and compliance activities across the program.
Maintain risk, compliance and assurance registers, controls, actions and supporting records.
Monitor obligations, controls, treatments and emerging risks.
Support assurance reviews, audits and control assessments.
Prepare high-quality governance, risk and compliance reporting for management and program forums.
Support the incorporation of risk, compliance, privacy, control and assurance requirements into the scheme's processes, systems and operating models.
Provide strategic support across both implementation and BAU functions, including surge capacity for emerging priorities and regulatory obligations.




Partner with stakeholders across Legal, Privacy, Information Security, Technology and Operations.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen governance and risk maturity across the program.
Qualifications We're looking for an experienced risk and compliance qualified who thrives in complex environments and enjoys bringing structure, insight and practical solutions to emerging challenges.
To be successful, you'll bring: Experience in risk management, compliance, assurance or audit.
Experience supporting complex programs, transformation initiatives or regulatory implementations.
Strong knowledge of risk assessment, controls, compliance obligations, issue management and assurance processes.
Experience maintaining risk, compliance or assurance registers and tracking actions through to completion.
Proven ability to engage and influence a broad range of stakeholders, including senior leaders.
Strong analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written communication skills and the ability to prepare executive-quality reports and briefing materials.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in risk, governance, compliance, law, business or a related discipline.
