Job Purpose
n The Senior Design Engineer – Train Control Systems (TCS) will be responsible for design, or review of the TCS and processes in accordance with project specifications and as guided or directed by the Project Engineer/Design Manager.
n
The role reports to the Design Manager, and to the Engineering Manager of the line of business functions.
n
Key Responsibilities
n Ensure compliance with all record keeping requirements.
n Undertake any adhoc projects, initiatives, tasks as directed by the Engineering & Design Manager.
n Coordinate the designs and selection of equipment to suit the contract requirements.
n Coordinate or generate the contract Bill of Materials (BOM).
n Coordinate /Prepare designs with simplicity, economy and sufficient to meet the project specifications.
n Prepare designs or conduct reviews in accordance with the company design process, engineering instructions and quality procedures.
n Prepare, register,



and revise all company related inspection and test and quality documents.
n Prepare Engineering documentation as required by the Design or Construction Manager and/or Engineering/Project Manager.
n Ensure documents are maintained through registering all project documentation and correspondence on appropriate project databases/registers.
n Review and agree with Planning Engineer / Design Manager / Project manager timeframes shown on respective programs.
n Review and resolve queries with the Verification Engineer regarding designs.
n Liaise with the Construction Manager and Design Manager to ensure adequacy of the design for manufacture and construction.
n Attend design reviews as requested by the Project Engineer / Design Manager.

Qualifications
n Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline and able to obtain Acceptance by Engineers Australia or equivalent.
n Minimum 5-10 years' experience in the Train Control System industry mainly in the TCS design area with some on site work involved in testing and commissioning.
n Demonstrated experience in delivery of projects.
