About ZLH Pty Ltd: ZLH Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Estimator to join our growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator who has strong construction knowledge, attention to detail and commercial awareness, and who enjoys working closely with project managers, suppliers, subcontractors and clients to prepare accurate and competitive project estimates.
The Role: As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for construction projects.
You will review project documentation, undertake quantity take-offs, obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations, and assist the business in developing competitive and commercially sound proposals.
Key Responsibilities: ·Review architectural drawings, specifications, scopes of work and tender documentation.
·Prepare accurate quantity take-offs, cost plans and detailed construction estimates.
·Develop project budgets and pricing schedules covering labour, materials, plant, subcontractors and other project costs.
·Prepare and coordinate tender submissions, quotations and supporting documentation.
·Obtain quotations from subcontractors and suppliers and assess them for scope, price and compliance.
·Identify potential cost risks, exclusions, discrepancies and opportunities within tender documentation.
·Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers,



subcontractors and internal project teams regarding pricing and scope requirements.
·Maintain and update estimating databases, supplier pricing and subcontractor information.
·Assist with value engineering and alternative construction solutions where appropriate.
·Support project handover from estimating/tender stage to the delivery team.
·Assist with variations and cost assessments when required.
·Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within required tender deadlines.
About You: The successful candidate will ideally have: ·Relevant Bachelor or above degree in Construction Management, Building, Civil Engineering , is essential.
·One (1) year of work experience as a Construction Estimator .
·Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, trades and sequencing.
·Demonstrated ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and tender documents.
·Experience preparing quantity take-offs and detailed cost estimates.
·Good knowledge of subcontractor and supplier procurement and pricing.
·Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
·Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify potential commercial risks.
·Good written and verbal communication skills.
·Solid organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
·Competency with Microsoft Excel and relevant estimating/construction software.
·Mandarin-speaking is an advantageous.
