About the Role:
n
The Caseworker – Family & Carers will be responsible for providing support and supervision to the carers of children placed in BACS's out of home care program (OOHC) to achieve quality outcomes.
n
This is a 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract Covering a Period of Parental Leave
.
n
The key objectives of the role include:
n
n
Placement matching and support and ensure case plan goals are in accordance with permanency guidelines.
n
Monitor placements in the carers' home including home visits and all related support
n
Ensure compliance will all application legislation and regulation including the Carer Protection Act and OCG Standards.
n
Advocate for each child's rights as per the United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child
n
Maintain appropriate records and compliance with the service management system and BACS Records Management Policy and Procedures..
n
Provide on-call availability to carers, children in care and support agencies via mobile phone.
n
n
Essential Criteria:
n
n
Certificate IV Community Services or equivalent
n
Ability to work flexibly across Monday – Sunday.
n
Experience working in Out of Home Care or the Child Protection sector
n
Strong documentation skills
n
Strong casework skills
n
Demonstrated ability to engage & work effectively with Aboriginal people and communities.
n
Solid interpersonal and communication skills
n
Effective time management and personal organisational skills
n
Ability to work independently, as a team member
n
High level of computer literacy; sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
n
Current NSW driver's licence
n
Ability to hold all relevant security clearances including the National Police Check and Working with Children clearances in accordance with BACS policies and procedures.
