Job Description
Australia Bay Seafoods is seeking Fishing and Deck Hand(s) with a minimum 2 years experience including net mending & fish handling. Based on Fish Trawlers operating out of Darwin NT. Working to a crew roster onboard vessels which conduct 14 day trips year round.

SALARY:
From $70,000 pa

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
n
Maintain a clean and safe workspace and abide by workplace health and safety policies and procedures
n
Ensure deck & processing area is clean and secure and all loose items are safely secured
n
Assist with bringing the net on board to unload catch to sorting table
n
Sort catch as directed and either load into brine for chilling or into cartons for freezing
n
Product for freezing to be loaded in Snap Freezer and product to be stored chilled to be sorted and packed as directed
n
Complete sorting & processing on time & to a high standard
n




Ensure correct seafood handling procedures followed at all times
n
Unloading of vessel at completion of trip
n
Assist with any net repairs or changeovers required while in Port
n
Assist with preparation for next trip including water tank refill and re-stocking of provisions
n
Assist with clean up and general maintenance of vessel while in Port
n
Maintain a high standard of work ethics and follow directions in a timely and safe manner
n
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
n
Senior First aid certificate
n Basic Safety Training - COP
n Survival Craft & Rescue Boats - COP
n Essential - Minimum 2 years' experience
n
