Contract Details: Full time, Salary: $73,000 to $78,000 plus superannuation

Akom Enterprises Pty Ltd is a leading hospitality company that owns and operates Mumtaaz Indian Bistro, a popular restaurant located in Surrey Hills, Melbourne. We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our team on a full-time basis.

/n

As a Chef at Mumtaaz Indian Bistro, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality Indian dishes, ensuring that they are presented and served to our customers in a timely and efficient manner. You will maintain the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities: /n

- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes according to the restaurant's menu and recipes

/n

- Ensure that all dishes are prepared and served in a timely and efficient manner

/n

- Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation

/n

- Monitor and control portion sizes and food wastage

/n

- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff to ensure consistency and quality in food preparation

/n

- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards at all times

/n

- Manage inventory and stock levels, and place orders for ingredients and supplies as needed

/n





- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and specials

/n

- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following all sanitation and safety procedures

/n

- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety, and food handling regulations.

/n

Requirements: /n

/n

- Proven experience as a Chef of at least 1 year, preferably in an Indian restaurant

/n

- Extensive knowledge of Indian cuisine and cooking techniques

/n

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

/n

- Strong leadership and communication skills

/n

- Excellent time management and organizational skills

/n

- A passion for food and a creative approach to cooking

/n

- Ability to work well in a team and independently

/n

- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery/relevantqualifications in culinary arts or a related field is preferred.

/n
