We're seeking a Senior Groundwater Modeller to play a key role within our growing APAC Groundwater Modelling team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead high-impact projects, influence technical excellence across the region, and contribute to projects that help communities, industries and environments thrive.

Working alongside our Australian and international hydrogeology teams, you'll apply advanced groundwater modelling expertise to solve complex challenges across water resources, mining, infrastructure, energy and environmental projects.

What you'll be doing

As a senior member of our team, you'll lead the delivery of groundwater modelling projects, with support from our groundwater modelling technical directors, while helping build capability across GHD's Asia Pacific network.

You'll have the opportunity to:

- Lead complex groundwater impact assessments and regional groundwater modelling studies,
- Deliver integrated surface water and groundwater modelling projects




- Apply advanced numerical modelling techniques to address challenging technical issues
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Water, Resources, Transport, Geotechnics and Contaminated Land
- Manage projects from proposal through to successful delivery, ensuring quality outcomes for clients
- Mentor and develop the next generation of groundwater professionals
- Build trusted client relationships and support business development opportunities across the region
- Develop your technical capabilities through targeted learning and development, and technical mentoring programs
- Contribute to the ongoing growth and technical leadership of GHD's groundwater modelling capability

What you'll bring

We're interested in connecting with experienced groundwater professionals who are passionate about numerical groundwater modelling and solving complex hydrogeological challenges.

You'll ideally have:

- A Master's degree or higher in Hydrogeology (or equivalent professional experience)
- 10+ years' experience in numerical groundwater modelling
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong experience delivering complex groundwater modelling projects
- Expertise with numerical groundwater flow models such as MODFLOW, FEFLOW and related modelling tools
- Programming skills for modelling automation and data processing, ideally using Python (FloPy)
- Experience with model calibration, uncertainty assessment and PEST-based workflows
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement capability
- A team-oriented mindset with a passion for mentoring and developing others

Experience in surface water-groundwater interactions, solute transport modelling, mining projects or major infrastructure projects will be highly regarded.
