We’re looking for someone who wants to help lead it. Discover Electrical has shot out of the blocks since starting in 2024, quickly building a robust and consistent schedule of work. We cut our teeth on major commercial, construction and builder projects. In a short period, we've built a strong business, a great reputation and, just as importantly, a team and culture we're genuinely proud of. Now we're deliberately evolving.

Commercial and construction will remain an important part of what we do, but we're proactively building residential solar and battery into a much bigger part of the business. We've seen the opportunity. We've proven the model. Now we're putting the people, systems and structure around it to scale it properly. That's why this isn't just another A-grade electrician job. We're looking for a Solar Installation Team Leader who wants to help lead what comes next.

Our heartland is the Mornington Peninsula and surrounding areas, with most of our work sitting within about an hour of our Mornington base. Our Head of Operations carefully plans jobs and start times around where the team lives, although from time to time our larger projects will take us further afield.

The opportunity

You'll join another Team Leader and our existing team of six, working closely with our Founder & Director, Andrew, and our Head of Operations. We don't just want someone who can install solar and batteries brilliantly. We want someone who can lead people. Someone who can take ownership on site, mentor and develop others, communicate with the office, help jobs run smoothly from the back office right through to the customer, and become an important connection between our operations and our frontline team. A team leader that will have a genuine say in how this side of Discover Electrical evolves. Over the next year or two, we're also looking towards the next evolution of the business, including taking on a new facility and building a larger operational base.

So right now, our work spans builder and construction projects, residential solar and battery, undergrounds, general electrical and EV. That mix is deliberately changing. We're building a much stronger residential solar and battery operation alongside the commercial and construction capability that established our reputation. We've learned that solar and battery is a great fit for the way we want to build this business: high-quality work, strong customer relationships, efficient installations and a much faster journey from winning a job to completing it. Our goal isn't to become a high-volume, cheap solar operator.

It's to build a high-quality residential solar and battery business around the same reputation,



workmanship and culture that got Discover Electrical to where it is today. You'll have an opportunity to help lead that transition.

Who we are

Founder-led. Andrew is hands-on, close to the work and genuinely passionate about the business, his customers and his people. Outside Discover Electrical, he's a CrossFit trainer. That probably tells you something about him. He's positive, energetic, communicative and loves seeing people improve. He's a natural people person and leader. He can sit at someone's kitchen table, immediately make a connection and earn their trust, then walk onto a major commercial project and do exactly the same thing. Integrity matters to him. So does honesty. He puts his team ahead of himself and genuinely wants the people around him to succeed. We're looking for another leader who shares those qualities.

Andrew has also walked the talk. He's been in the trenches as an electrician, built the business from the ground up and understands the work because he's done the work. He knows what it's like to be on the tools, lead from the front, win the job, deal with the customer and carry the responsibility that comes with owning and growing a business. And our team thinks he stands above almost all other business owners in our industry. That's not about ego. It's about the way he operates. Put him head-to-head with most owners in the industry and his personal discipline, people skills, energy, integrity and leadership stand out. He expects a lot of himself before he expects it from anyone else.

A small team that does it properly.

We'd rather do the job right than fast and cheap. There's nowhere to hide in a team this size, and the right person doesn't want to hide anyway.

What we're looking for in our next Team Leader

Fundamentally, you need to have a strong track record as an electrician and solar installer. That's the starting point. Without it, this isn't the role for you. But to really thrive here, it's also about who you are around other people.

We're looking for someone who:

- Has an A-grade licence and SAA accreditation — both non-negotiable

- Has a strong track record in solar and battery installation





- Takes genuine pride in clean, safe, done-right work

- Can confidently lead a crew and take ownership of a job

- Enjoys mentoring and developing apprentices and other electricians

- Communicates naturally and confidently with customers, the office and the team

- Earns people's trust

- Owns mistakes and fixes them rather than looking for someone to blame

- Can give and receive honest feedback without ego

- Is adaptable and comfortable with change

- Gets energy from growth rather than being threatened by it

- Wants responsibility and the opportunity to influence how things are done

- Puts the team ahead of themselves

- Wants to keep getting better rather than coast

This probably isn't for you if

- You prefer working independently, keeping your head down and simply getting through your jobsheet

- You want a title but don't actually want the responsibility of leading people

- You're uncomfortable with a business that's growing, evolving and changing

- You like to coast or clock-watch

- You don't want feedback or accountability

- You'd rather stay anonymous than contribute to the team

- You're chasing maximum overtime — we'd rather you knock off on time and keep your evenings and weekends your own

- You think leadership means throwing your weight around or being the loudest person on site

What you'll get from us

- A-grade electrical licence

- SAA accreditation

- Strong solar and battery installation experience

- Demonstrated ability or genuine potential to lead others

- Strong work ethic and problem-solving ability

- Willingness to give and receive constructive feedback

- Police check

- Full Australian driver's licence
