This role owns the mechanical design backbone of custom semiconductor manufacturing equipment, from early concept through detailed design, prototyping, validation, commissioning and production release.

n

What You’ll Work On

n

• Lead mechanical design for custom manufacturing equipment
n • Take machine concepts through CAD, drawings, BOMs, build and production release
n • Design mechanisms, structures, pneumatic systems, motion assemblies and precision subsystems
n • Apply DFM and DFA thinking before manufacturing problems become expensive
n • Conduct tolerance analysis, FEA and engineering analysis where required
n • Select materials, components, suppliers and vendors for mechanical subsystems
n • Support prototyping, commissioning and continuous improvement of equipment
n • Work with controls, mechatronics and software engineers on fully integrated machine solutions
n • Help define mechanical design standards, documentation and workflows




n • Reduce reliance on external vendors by building deeper in-house equipment capability

n

What Matters Here

n

• 7+ years mechanical engineering experience
n • 4+ years focused on manufacturing equipment, automation equipment or machine design
n • Proven experience taking machines from concept to production-ready equipment
n • Robust 3D CAD skills, ideally SolidWorks, Inventor or similar
n • Strong understanding of mechanisms, pneumatics, motion systems and structural design
n • GD&T;, tolerance stack-ups and engineering drawings
n • Precision prototyping and manufacturing process experience
n • Cross-functional confidence with controls, mechatronics, software and production teams
n • Semiconductor or chip manufacturing equipment experience would be a major plus

• FEA and tolerance analysis tools
n • PLM, JIRA or Confluence
n • Startup or fast-paced engineering environment experience
n • Experience setting engineering standards in a team that is still maturing
