Centennial Homestead is looking for a passionate and reliable Casual Cook to join our kitchen team.

Located in the heart of Centennial Park, Centennial Homestead is a busy, vibrant venue serving an all-day menu seven days a week, with breakfast and lunch at the heart of our operation. Alongside our daily service, we host a range of events, including weddings, private functions and special occasions that bring the kitchen to life at night.

We’re looking for a Casual Cook who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in delivering great food and enjoys being part of a strong, hardworking team.

The Role

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and wider kitchen team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen across restaurant service and events.

You’ll be responsible for:

- Preparing and cooking food to a consistently high standard
- Working across our breakfast, lunch and all-day menu
- Assisting with preparation and service during busy periods
- Supporting the kitchen team with functions, events and special occasions
- Ensuring food is prepared and presented to venue standards
- Maintaining strong food safety, hygiene and kitchen standards
- Keeping workstations clean, organised and well maintained
- Following recipes, portion controls and kitchen procedures
- Assisting with stock rotation, storage and kitchen organisation




- Working efficiently as part of a team during busy services
- Assisting with cleaning and closing-down procedures as required
- Contributing to a positive and professional kitchen environment

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

- Has previous experience working in a commercial kitchen or similar setting
- Is confident working in a busy, fast-paced kitchen
- Has a genuine passion for food and hospitality
- Takes pride in quality, consistency and presentation
- Is reliable, punctual and willing to work flexible hours
- Can remain calm and focused when the pressure is on
- Has a strong understanding of food safety and kitchen procedures
- Is a team player with a positive and hardworking attitudeIs hands‑on and willing to assist wherever needed
- Enjoys working across both restaurant service and events
- Is keen to learn, develop and grow their skills
