About the role
n
Mater Private Hospital Townsville is seeking experienced Registered Nurses – Scrub/Scout to join our Perioperative team. This role is based in our state-of-the-art theatres at Pimlico, where we are particularly looking for nurses with orthopaedic and general scrub/scout experience. The Perioperative Services department at Mater Private Hospital Townsville (MPHT) provides surgical services across 16 theatres and caters for adults and pediatrics with a variety of surgical specialties. MPHT boasts brand new state of the art theatre facilities, a catheterization laboratory, separate onsite day site surgery facilities as well as newly implemented robotic surgery involving the da Vinci Surgical System.

Salary range: $44.06 - $56.52per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing
n
Whilst displaying the highest level of clinical standards you will be responsible for:
n
n
- Facilitating the surgeon within the theatre setting, supporting and collaborating with the theatre team to provide excellent patient centred care
n
- Preparation of the operating theatre and preparing patients for surgery ensuring all documentation is completed.
n
- Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care
n
- Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care
n
n
About you
n
To be successful in this role you will possess:
n
n
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
n
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital perioperative setting
n
- At least 2 years’ recent Scrub/Scout experience
n
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded although not essential
n
- Ability to work in an ever-changing and fast paced environment
n
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally at various levels
n
